Most people in Chile have to weddings, two ceremonies, and two parties. There is the civil wedding, where a judge explains to the couple what marriage is under the law and they and their witnesses sign a form, plus their is the church wedding where the couple swears before god that they will love and cherish each other forever. Usually the civil wedding is a bit smaller. Usually the church wedding is a bit more formal. Usually the civil wedding does not last until 7am… although it may easily last til 2 or 3. Both are expensive and time consuming to plan. (Of course, fun for everyone else involved).
