RIP Grammy

Mothers Day 2009 002, originally uploaded by coming2cambodia.

This morning my Grandmother left us and here is what I am happy for:

  • She out lived the doctors expectations by 15 months.
  • She was never in pain; if she had to take any pain meds, it was usually just Tylenol.
  • She never felt alone; she had family who visited her daily and other kids who flew in often.
  • I was gainfully unemployed for 9 months and got to spend much of that time with her.

I am sorry for your loss. It is heartening to read your list of thankfulness. You focus on the time you had with her and her time with family. I wish you well during this time of mourning and loss.

  5. Thank You for spending so much time with her and not letting her feel alone. I wish I could have gotten out there more often. I was looking forward to seeing her next weekend. But, if she were still alive, she couldn’t have been there. Now she will be.

PS.. There is a superstition that if you find a dime, it is a sign from someone who has passed away that he or she is okay. My family has been finding dimes all over the house.

Can’t wait to see you, either way.

Hope your family is doing OK.

  7. I’m sorry Clare. My thoughts are with you and your family.
