Mothers Day 2009 002, originally uploaded by coming2cambodia.
This morning my Grandmother left us and here is what I am happy for:
- She out lived the doctors expectations by 15 months.
- She was never in pain; if she had to take any pain meds, it was usually just Tylenol.
- She never felt alone; she had family who visited her daily and other kids who flew in often.
- I was gainfully unemployed for 9 months and got to spend much of that time with her.

Dear Claire
I am sorry for your loss. It is heartening to read your list of thankfulness. You focus on the time you had with her and her time with family. I wish you well during this time of mourning and loss.

Thank You for spending so much time with her and not letting her feel alone. I wish I could have gotten out there more often. I was looking forward to seeing her next weekend. But, if she were still alive, she couldn’t have been there. Now she will be.
PS.. There is a superstition that if you find a dime, it is a sign from someone who has passed away that he or she is okay. My family has been finding dimes all over the house.
Can’t wait to see you, either way.
